Mary Ann VandenPlas, 80, of Green Bay, beloved wife of the late Bernard W. VandenPlas Sr., departed this life on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital unexpectedly.

Mary was born on May 23, 1936 in Trinidad, CO, daughter of the late Pedro and Fermina (Casias) Pina. She was a member of the Red Hatters, and was an avid BINGO Player at the ADRC and Salvation Army. Mary was a devoted communicant of St. Willebrord's Church, and also served in the choir. She enjoyed spending time in Daytona, Florida, and visits to Mexico. She spent her life as a loving homemaker, taking wonderful care of her late husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her eight Children: Deborah (Rick) Hartwell, Bonnie VandenPlas, Joni Walters, Julie (Merle) Korvela, Bernard "BJ" (Carol Christensen) VandenPlas, Lori VandenPlas, Michael (Amanda) VandenPlas, and Shari (Paul) Warden. Mary also leaves her brother, Arthur (Barbara) Pina, along with a sister-in-law, Linda Pina. Mary also leaves 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and family members. Mary is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Pete Pina, and two sisters, Helen Espinosa and Alice Lucero.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12th from 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM at St. Willebrord Church, 209 S. Adams Street, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian will follow at 10:30 AM in the Church followed by a luncheon the church hall. Entombment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. The Newcomer Funeral Home of Green Bay has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Willebrord's Church.
